Helping Those Who Need to Heal

Paragon Wound CareMost wounds typically heal without any difficulties. But for patients with chronic diseases such as diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, or those who have suffered traumatic injuries or burns, wounds can create a serious situation that can last for months. Without proper attention, a chronic wound can create debilitating pain, limit mobility and lead to infection.

The medical staff of Paragon Surgical Specialists Wound Care is dedicated to healing acute and chronic wounds using a multidisciplinary approach and the latest treatment options. Our medical staff, Brian J. Schmidt, MD, FACS, and Heather C. Puckett, ANP-C, CWOCN, work with referring providers to develop a comprehensive plan best suited to the individual patient’s needs.

Our advanced wound care services include:

  • Moist wound bed preparation
  • Enzymatic debridement
  • Alginate therapy
  • Antimicrobial treatment
  • Sharp debridement
  • High gradient, multi-layer compression therapy
  • Negative pressure wound therapy
  • Adjunctive therapy
  • Hydrotherapy with pulsatile lavage or whirlpool if needed
  • Surgical care if needed
